BCAG Meeting: Solar Power Generation
Anyone wondering if installing photovoltaic solar panels might be the way to reduce electricity costs for their home, business or farm is invited to grab a recent hydro bill and come to the next meeting of the Brockville Climate Action Group on Sunday, November 23, 2 p.m., in the Brockville Public Library’s meeting room.
Mike Jordan, of Upper Canada Solar Generation Ltd. (UCSG), will talk about what the company offers and lead a discussion about photovoltaic energy, a clean, quiet renewable energy.
Jordan invites people to bring one of their recent hydro bills to find out whether a solar photovoltaic setup would be helpful in their individual case. He will describe net metering, a way property owners can send their unused solar-generated electricity to the power grid and earn credits toward their future energy costs.
Driving past UCSG’s property on County Road 29, north of Brockville, it’s easy to see the arrays of photovoltaic (PV) panels set up on the grounds. Various PV systems are being tested by the company, which not only advises commercial, residential and agricultural property owners on the best system for their needs but also installs systems.
